A couple people have asked me what I’m eating on this liquid diet. Not everything is, strictly speaking, liquid. I am not a big fan of Boost or Ensure or, frogs forbid, Glucerna, protein shakes. I bought some Atkins and I think it actually managed to be worse than the others. Fortunately for me, they make a bunch of protein shakes in fruit flavored powders and I can deal with that. I’ve tried the cappuccino flavor mixed in yogurt and it isn’t bad, either. I’ve learned to add a little fat free half and half or skim milk to thin the yogurt a bit or the protein powder doesn’t dissolve very well.
(Protein / Carbs / Fat / Calories)
1/2 cup plain, non-fat greek yogurt (11 / 5 / 0 / 65)
2 tablespoons fat-free half and half (0.5 / 3 / 0 / 20)
1 envelope protein shake mix (peach mango in this case) (15 / 3 / 0 / 70)
Totals
Protein: 26.5
Carbs: 16
Fat: 0
Calories: 155

I dont like Boost or Ensure either! Ugh…
The one protein shake that tastes great that I drink is called Nutribody. It doesnt make me bloated and gassy like those other ones (no dairy) and is healthy and all natural to boot! Made of brown rice and pea protein.
Stay healthy and keep at it — you’ll find something that’s tolerable soon!

Hi Chris and thanks for stopping in. I’ll keep an eye out for Nutribody – I’m finding all kinds of things out there but I haven’t heard of that one.
Hmm. This looks like a good idea. I bought a bunch of the Medifast shake mixes and although they’re ok (they mix with water and given my absolute hatred of milk this seemed like a good idea) they’re not great. I do like yogurt though and I bet stirred into yogurt these would be better. Definitely going to try it!
